Green New Deal, by J Clement Wall

Mission & Vision

The Art of the Green New Deal – A Journal of Creative Culture Shift collects and chronicles creative endeavors that build public support for the adoption and implementation of the Green New Deal (GND), a U.S. House of Representatives resolution calling for a national, social, industrial, and economic mobilization in response to the threats of climate change on a scale not seen since World War II and the New Deal era.

In addition to highlighting the resolution’s various interconnected pillars — from clean energy and sustainable food systems to social/economic equity and community resiliency — the journal is a showcase for the creative human engagement needed to bring about a shift in collective cultural consciousness commensurate with the scale of the GND’s proposed structural and societal transformations.

The works, movements, and narratives on this hub also serve to make the case for adding a WPA-style arts program to the list of GND policies, as well as to compile a go-to library of quality creative assets that would be natural candidates for such a program.

Ultimately, we envision the journal to become a basis for books, films, tutorials, workshops, and any number of other educational resources in support of advancing and implementing GND projects.
